Work Detail The Province put out to tender a fundamental project for the town and four companies submitted their bids. It is the culmination of a series of actions that will allow the provision of home sanitation services to all residents. Governor Rolando Figueroa headed the opening ceremony of the envelopes for the tender for the construction of the sewage treatment plant for Huinganco this afternoon at the Government House. With the completion of these works, which will take 150 days, all residents of the town will be able to have an essential service such as domestic sewage. Four companies submitted their bids to carry out a project that is essential for protecting the environment, since once it is put into operation, the septic tanks currently in use will be removed. The project is the culmination of various works that the Provincial Water and Sanitation Authority (EPAS) is carrying out in the town. “This long-awaited project contributes to the distinctive seal that we want to give to Huinganco, which is a place where the environment is cared for. The sewers are essential for this,” said the governor and added that the town “requires a series of structural works to improve the quality of life of the inhabitants, but also to become that tourist jewel that the mayor also wants.” He highlighted the works that allow the town to be provided with better services and assured that the paving of the route between Andacollo and Huinganco “is essential.” “We have not stopped all winter. I thank the people from Vialidad Provincial,” he added. Figueroa stressed that the projects represent “solid steps” for all of Northern Neuquén and especially for Huinganco, “towards its development and the realization of many dreams that we have longed for for years.” For his part, the mayor of Huinganco, Luis Sepúlveda, said that "this work will change the life of the town" and recalled that "we have been working for this for many years." “Today, thanks to the political decision of the governor, we are close to making it happen,” said Sepúlveda, who stressed that during his administration, progress has been made on important works for the town, such as drinking water initiatives, electrification, the route to Andacollo and the hospital. “We are very happy with this joint work that we have dreamed of for many years and that we can finally make it happen,” he concluded. The event was also attended by the Chief of Cabinet, Juan Luis Ousset; the Secretary of Public Enterprises, Marcelo Lazcano; the President of EPAS, Gustavo Hernández and representatives of the bidding firms, among others.
