Dr. Saleh Al-Kharabsheh, Jordan’s Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources, held a crucial meeting to review the progress of key priorities and initiatives under the Economic Modernization Vision (2023-2025) for the energy and mining sectors. The meeting, attended by liaison officers from relevant authorities, focused on evaluating advancements made according to the scheduled timetable for July.
During the review, Dr. Al-Kharabsheh discussed the significant progress on two major projects: the installation of smart meters across the Kingdom and the deployment of solar heaters for underprivileged families. The smart meter installation project has achieved a 48% completion rate, reflecting a substantial step towards modernizing Jordan’s energy infrastructure. Additionally, 1,265 solar heater systems have been installed for low-income families, thanks to collaboration with the United States Agency for International Development (USAID).
Dr. Al-Kharabsheh emphasized the importance of regular follow-ups on these initiatives and urged the liaison officers to ensure timely progress according to the set deadlines. The Economic Modernization Vision outlines 50 initiatives for the energy sector and 18 for the mining sector, aiming to drive comprehensive development and sustainability in Jordan.
The Minister’s review underscores the commitment of Jordan’s government to advancing energy modernization and addressing the needs of its citizens through strategic and effective measures. |
