It is to be hybridized with the Granja Solar photovoltaic plant, a joint project with the Chilean Petroleum Company (Copec). The agreement with the Chinese company Clou Electronics involves a group of units with a total nominal injection power of 105 MW and a joint storage capacity of 420 MWh.
Transelec, Chiles largest transmission company, has announced the purchase from Chinese company Clou Electronics of the batteries and conversion equipment for the large-scale BESS storage system for the project it is developing with Copec in the Granja Solar photovoltaic park.
In a statement, Clou explains that it will provide more than 130 20-foot (6-meter) modules with thousands of energy battery cells each, with a nominal injection power of 105 MW and a storage capacity of 420 MWh.
It adds that “it is a liquid-cooled storage system, which stands out for having a high level of security and energy density.”
Reports indicate that the first shipment of the equipment is scheduled for July 2025 and that the storage system will be operational in early 2026.
According to Transelecs New Technologies Manager, Alex Alegría, "we will work with Clou to develop the engineering associated with the equipment and other supplies such as systems to properly connect to the grid, auxiliary systems, control systems, among others."

Last July, they announced an agreement to develop a 420 MWh storage system and 105 MW injection power in the 123 MWp Granja Solar photovoltaic park , located in the commune of Pozo Almonte, Tarapacá region.
Previously, in April of this year, Copec had acquired Granja Solar in the context of the Bankruptcy Liquidation Procedure of the María Elena Solar SA Economic Unit, the electrical substation and the 23.4 km electrical transmission line that connects said plant to the National Electric System. |
