The Indian Railways has approved the construction of 15 road over bridges (ROBs) in Bihar for the 2024-25 fiscal year. Of these, nine ROBs will be situated within the Samastipur division of the East Central Railway (ECR). The project, aimed at easing traffic congestion at key railway crossings, will be jointly funded by the state government and the railways, according to Divisional Railway Manager (DRM) Vinay Srivastava. The identified locations for these ROBs include Laheriasarai-Darbhanga gate number 25, Darbhanga-Mahmadpur gate numbers 2 and 28, Thalwara-Laheriasarai gate number 18, Motihari Court-Bapudham Motihari gate number 160, Kaparpura-Kanti gate number 112, Motipur-Mahwal gate number 124, Sugauli-Majhaulia gate number 178, and Majhaulia-Bettiah gate number 188. These ROBs will be constructed across Darbhanga, East Champaran, West Champaran, and Muzaffarpur districts. The project, part of the Setu Bandhan scheme, has a completion deadline of three years. Additionally, the railways have sanctioned the construction of six more ROBs in Nawada, Begusarai, and Katihar districts, bringing the total investment for these ROBs to ?669 crore. |
