Geophysical solutions provider Seas Geosciences has signed a multi-year agreement with Britoil Offshore Services to charter and convert the platform supply vessel (PSV) BOS Princess into an offshore wind geotechnical drilling vessel.
According to Seas Geosciences, the PSV’s 80-metre length and 19-metre beam will provide a stable platform for geotechnical investigations. The 2016-built vessel will become available to the offshore wind market from January 2025.
The company plans on deploying the vessel on a global scale, serving projects from the Mediterranean to the North Sea to the Gulf of Mexico.
The vessel will be converted specifically to serve the offshore wind industry and will be fitted with a fully automated topside geotechnical rig, seabed CPT system, and geotechnical tools. |
