Work Detail Austrian national railway company ÖBB announces modernisation works on four station along the Pannonia Railway By the end of November, four stations on the Pannonia Railway will be completely renovated: Schützen am Gebirge, Donnerskirchen, Breitenbrunn, Winden am See. Pannonia Railway renovations The stops will be modernized and given a contemporary appearance: Renewal of edge platform, barrier-free equipment including guidance system for the blind Construction of technical room Construction of platform roof Renewal of platform equipment – ??benches, waste bins, signage/wayfinding etc. Renewal of platform lighting and loudspeaker system In Donnerskirchen and Breitenbrunn, parking capacities will also be expanded. Donnerskirchen: Expansion of Park&Ride facility: Existing: 30 parking spaces, expansion: 25 parking spaces (1 disabled parking space, 3 family parking spaces, 5 women’s parking spaces) Expansion of Bike&Ride facility: Bicycle parking spaces: 20, motorcycle parking spaces: 3 Breitenbrunn: Expansion of Park&Ride facility: Existing: 24 parking spaces (will also be renewed), expansion: 16 parking spaces (1 disabled parking space, 2 family parking spaces, 5 women’s parking spaces) Expansion of Bike&Ride facility: Bicycle parking spaces: 24, motorcycle parking spaces: 3 The work will begin in Donnerskirchen, Breitenbrunn and Winden am See on September 2nd, and in Schützen am Gebirge on September 30th. The measures will be completed everywhere on November 29th, 2024. The accessibility requirements should be met as best as possible. In addition, in November, track coverings will be renewed between Schützen am Gebirge and Breitenbrunn, as well as maintenance work to compact the ballast bed on the track between Schützen and Winden, for which some railway crossings will have to be temporarily closed. The measures on the Pannonia Railway are being financed jointly by ÖBB, the state of Burgenland and the municipalities. The total investment amounts to around EUR 4 million. ÖBB asks for understanding for noise development ÖBB is trying to keep noise and dust levels as low as possible, but asks for your understanding that these cannot be avoided due to the work to be carried out and the machines and warning signals required. In order to impact train traffic as little as possible for the benefit of passengers, it is necessary and sensible to work at night. Nevertheless, a temporary closure of the railway line is necessary to carry out some work. Due to the construction work, no trains can run between Wulkaprodersdorf and Eisenstadt or Neusiedl am See from October 14, 2024 (3:50 a.m.) to November 22, 2024 (8:00 p.m.). A rail replacement service with buses will be set up for you. The measures will ensure the quality of the rail infrastructure. We have also sent out information to residents about the work.
