The Government will expand the emergency room at the Señor del Milagro hospital

The works consist of 420 m2, which will allow for an increase of twelve hospital beds, an expansion of the waiting room, the addition of four consulting rooms, the renovation of the toilets and the construction of an operating room for the emergency room. The Province will make an investment of more than one billion pesos.
As part of the 129th anniversary of the founding of the Señor del Milagro Hospital, the Ministers of Public Health, Federico Mangione, and Infrastructure, Sergio Camacho, announced that in May work will begin on expanding the hospitals emergency room.
“Health is a priority for this Government, which is why a long-awaited and necessary project for the people of Salta will be carried out, such as the expansion of the emergency room with works that will allow for the addition of 12 beds for men and women, the expansion of the waiting room, the addition of an operating room and new consulting rooms; the Milagro hospital is a reference point for infectious diseases and due to the volume of patients it receives daily, it needs to have more space to avoid people having to wait on the sidewalk,” explained Mangione.
In addition, the Minister of Health recalled that in the modernization process that is being carried out in the hospital, a modern 64-slice CT scanner was added last year, and it has a provincial reference laboratory that is continuously kept up to date with state-of-the-art equipment. He took the opportunity to highlight and thank the great work carried out by the hospital team to provide quality care to the people of Salta.
The Government will expand the guard at the Señor del Milagro hospital.
Camacho reported that the works will begin in May, and will require an investment of more than one billion pesos from the Province. “Despite the fact that decree No. 45 is in force, by which, among many things, new works cannot be started, health is a priority for Governor Gustavo Saénz, so despite the crisis that the country is going through, with the decrease in revenue, we continue with works in the hospitals of Rosario de la Frontera, La Candelaria, in Metán, Tartagal, Orán; in Capital we continue with the expansion of the San Bernardo Hospital, the Ragone, and soon we will begin with this expansion that is so necessary for the people of Salta,” explained the Minister of Infrastructure.
Finally, the hospital manager, José Soto Ruiz, highlighted the great work carried out every day by all the staff of the establishment to provide the best possible care. “We went from attending 70 patients to more than 200 per day in the emergency room, we are managing to recover costs, to continue improving and soon the work on the annex on Rivadavia and Alvear streets will be ready, where some services will be moved so that they have a better space for care.”
