Work Detail This was stated by the mayor, who headed the bidding process for the expansion of the gas networks in the San Cayetano and Stella Maris neighborhoods, bringing services to more than 80 families, with an investment exceeding $240 million pesos. Also present at the event were the Secretary of Infrastructure, Luis Romero, Carlos Muñoz, a San Cayetano neighborhood representative, Romina Silva, a Stella Maris neighborhood representative, Romina Silva, members of the Cabinet and neighbors. This Monday at noon, at the facilities of the Stella Maris Neighborhood Association, the opening of envelopes for Public Tender No. 18/2024 Work: "Expansion of the natural gas network Blocks 34, 172, 196 to 198 and 254 P. 1 - B° Stella Maris" was carried out, with an official budget of $174,827,686 pesos and a term of execution of 240 calendar days. For this tender, five offers were submitted corresponding to the companies: PRECAP SRL; CHOEL SRL; Nicolás Torraca Construcciones; Gresuco SA and Freile Construcciones SRL. Next, the opening of bids for Private Price Competition No. 22/2024, Work “Expansion of natural gas network Blocks 57 and 85 P.6 B° San Cayetano” took place, with an official budget of $66,086,670 pesos and a term of execution of 210 calendar days, which had the presentation of two bidders: the company Golfo San Jorge and the company PAL Construcciones de Pedro Abel Leiva. In this regard, the mayor highlighted in general the gas, water and sewage infrastructure works that are being carried out in different places in the ejido, saying that “we have been working for some time to see how we organize the territory and put order to the whole issue of urbanization.” Meanwhile, referring specifically to the work in Stella Maris, he indicated that “the Municipality is carrying out the opening of a gas tender for some blocks that correspond to an urbanization by cooperatives, which had to do the infrastructure and could not complete it at that time.” “For the residents who live there –he continued-, not having services is a cost and a problem,” he said, while thanking the councilors who “saw that the need in the times we are living in was to generate the technical-legal instruments to be able to dynamize all these works. Some works that come from previous years need to be redetermined, updated and find companies that trust. The fact that today we have 5 bidders in a tender, shows that we are not going to stop supporting the companies, we must strengthen those providers to be able to do public works for this city. We need solid, strong companies that generate sources of employment so that our neighbors have jobs.” In this context, Macharashvili indicated that, through the technical team of the Infrastructure Secretariat, the priorities were based on listening to those who live in the neighborhoods and the residents. “We are going to move forward with the services to generate a better quality of life for our neighbors,” he said, announcing that more tenders and competitions are underway that cover curbs, gutters, gas, water and sewers. "We are trying to put life in order in the neighbourhoods," he said, praising, on the one hand, the work of the neighbourhood representatives who work pro bono for the residents and, on the other, the beginning of responses for different neighbourhoods. "We are working throughout the city with the same imprint and facing the people," he said. “We are giving answers to the neighbors” For his part, the Secretary of Infrastructure, Luis Romero, thanked the team under his charge for their work, as well as the local residents, who work together with the Executive. Meanwhile, in reference to the number of companies that submitted bids, he stressed that “we are a Municipality that continues to demonstrate that it is reliable and that, in a short period of time, we are providing responses to the residents.” “Perhaps the investment values ??that we are considering for these works, in the national context in which we live, do not seem relevant, but the important thing is that more than 300 people will have gas service and will be able to heat themselves in the way they deserve. We are going to continue with basic infrastructure works, both for San Cayetano and for Stella Maris,” he emphasized. Along these lines, Romina Silva, a resident of Stella Maris, valued the possibility of having new services for the residents and said that “in our case, we have 55 families, including the neighborhood headquarters and we have another sector where the survey was already carried out and they will also benefit from this service, which is essential. Therefore, after waiting for the service for so many years, all the families are happy.” Likewise, Carlos Muñoz, president of the San Cayetano neighborhood association, spoke about the importance of this type of work “that will benefit 17 families in our sector. We do not lack many gas networks, only some extensions and with that we would stop using firewood for heating and also electricity because the bills have gone up a lot due to the use of fan heaters.” Works that improve the quality of life of the residents In this context, one of the beneficiaries, Fernando Borquez, expressed the importance of having gas service and said that “for us it is a very big change because today we heat with bottled gas and that lasts us approximately 12 days and this winter it was very cold, so this would be a solution for us, in addition to improving the quality of life of our children.” In agreement, Fabián González, another beneficiary of Stella Maris, indicated that “I live with my wife and my two children and this, first of all, saves us money in terms of using firewood, which is very expensive, and as for the children,” giving an example that “at night, until a certain time, the salamander maintains its temperature but it goes out and in the morning you have to get up early and make a fire to warm up the house, especially for the children, a situation that repeats itself when you have to bathe them.” Ana Álvarez, another of the neighbors who will be able to count on gas service, said that “the truth is that this changes our lives, we have been waiting for gas for a long time and the issue of the cylinder, firewood and now also the electricity was very expensive for us, so this is great for us, since there are several of us in the family made up of my husband, three children and two grandchildren.” Source: https://www.comodoro.gov.ar/
