Incident contained and all work at the site suspended until further notice
Northland Power has confirmed that a gas leak at its Hai Long Changhua Onshore Substation in Taiwan has affected 17 employees, and several of them have been hospitalised.
The incident involved a suspected leak from a carbon dioxide cylinder, Northland said, and the employees were from an on-site contractor.
“Emergency services were immediately notified and first aid measures were administered on-site,” the company said.
“The affected individuals were quickly transported to nearby hospitals where they are receiving emergency treatment.”
Northland added that the incident has been contained and all work at the site is suspended until further notice while investigations are ongoing.
“We will continue to monitor the situation closely and provide updates as more information becomes available,” the company said. |
