The Regional Port Consortium approved the international tender document to carry out the dredging of the access to the Port of Mar del Plata, with an investment of close to 6 million dollars. The objective is for the works to begin in December.
The resolution of the Consortiums board, chaired by Marcos Gutiérrez, was published this Wednesday in the Official Gazette. It details the approval of the specifications for the work "dredging of the external and internal access channel, the turning area of ??the flammable post and docking fronts in sections 8 and 9 of breakwater 2".
The official budget for December of this year, the estimated date for the start of the works, is 5,848,516.67 dollars.
"It is a public work of significant characteristics and a commitment that this administration must make with the support of all port stakeholders," said Gutiérrez, who valued that the work will not only guarantee port operations, but will also allow to sustain the growth dynamic that the Port terminal has been experiencing in recent months, in the heat of the new maritime trade route that links Mar del Plata with Santos, in Brazil.
Companies interested in participating in the tender for dredging for the Port of Mar del Plata in charge of carrying out this work have until 12 noon on September 20, the date set for the opening of the envelopes with the corresponding proposals.
The previous maintenance dredging was completed at the end of March 2022 and, as explained, the periodicity of these works "has to do with the consequences of a coastal drift that in this port generates an increase in the volume of the sandbank, which implies the natural and sustained dumping of sediments on the external access channel."
