The agreement with BNP Paribas and Crédit Agricole CIB includes a US$219 million senior loan and US$70 million other credit lines for the construction of the 200 MW / 800 MWh system, located in the commune of María Elena, Antofagasta region.
Atlas Renewable Energy, a renewable energy company owned by Global Infrastructure Partners (GIP), has announced the closing of a $289 million financing for the development and construction of the Desert BESS storage project with financial institutions BNP Paribas and Crédit Agricole Corporate and Investment Bank.
The statement said the agreement was reached “in record time” and that the total amount of financing includes $219 million in senior loans and $70 million in other lines of credit.
"The agreement will allow financing of BESS del Desierto, one of the largest energy storage projects in the country and in Latin America, with an installed capacity of 200 MW and four hours of discharge, and a storage capacity of 800 MWh," it added. The system will be located in the commune of María Elena, Antofagasta region.
Last March, the signing of a power purchase agreement (PPA) between Atlas and the Chilean company COPEC, through its energy marketing company EMOAC, for 15 years was announced .
In July of this year, an agreement was announced with Chinas Sungrow to supply the project with the PowerTitan liquid cooling storage system . |
