Governor Carlos Sadir visited San Pedro de Jujuy, where work on Route 34 was resumed on a section of that road.
Carlos Sadir visited the work on Route 34 in the section between the junction with National Route 66 and the northern access to San Pedro de Jujuy. The Governor highlighted that “now, due to the agreements signed with the Nation, road works are being reactivated.”
He recalled that after the work was halted, “the level of execution was low” and emphasized that “we hope that the pace of work will soon be intensified to have this route, which is essential not only for Jujuy, but also for the entire region, available as soon as possible, due to its strong impact on economic activities in general, particularly productive and tourist activities.”
Sadir said that “construction in general terms is distinguished by its dynamic effect on investment and the generation of registered employment” and he valued the recent start of the bidding processes for the comprehensive renovation of provincial routes, “because we want to recover the road network of Jujuy and promote employment opportunities,” he argued.
Regarding the public works transfer agreement
made official with the national government, Sadir said that “we are going through a stage of analysis of each project, considering the degree of progress of the same and outlining definitions about their future.”
He stressed that “we are committed to finishing some of them, especially those works that are more than 80% complete,” and referring to Route 34 he added that “the Nation is committed to making the corresponding payments to the company so that construction can continue.”
The Governor, together with technicians from the company carrying out the work and officials from the National Highway Directorate, addressed the obstacles presented by the route, such as the laying of water, sewage, electricity, telephone and gas networks, and said that he will negotiate with the corresponding companies and organizations the solutions that are necessary to overcome such obstacles.
