Work Detail Skanska has completed the $89m makeover of the University of New Hampshire’s Biological Sciences Building, Spaulding Hall, in Durham, New Hampshire. Designed by architects Ellenzweig to be LEED Silver certified, the project began in 2019. Ellenzweig designed the original Spaulding Hall, which opened in 1996. Skanska renovated 82,500 sq ft of the building and added 47,500 sq ft of new teaching and lab space. The project involved significant coordination with management to install new steam, chilled, and hot water services. Skanska worked with the project engineer to select a Konvekta system for the new air handling units. University architect Kenneth Weston said the building’s makeover would help the University “deliver state of the art learning opportunities, positioning student for successful entry into the workforce”.
