Work Detail U.S. subsea engineering and applied technology firm Oceaneering International is set to deliver inspection, maintenance, and repair (IMR) support services offshore Norway under a new contract with Aker BP. The contract was awarded to the company’s Norwegian subsidiary Oceaneering AS, which will mobilize this month to provide onshore and offshore IMR project support to vessels contracted by Aker BP operating on the Norwegian Continental Shelf (NCS). The initial duration of the contract is three years, with two two-year extension options. “Being awarded the IMR support services contract from Aker BP is a significant achievement. It enables us to leverage our advanced product and service portfolio to deliver a cost-effective solution with a reduced carbon footprint and minimized HSE risk,” said Eli Løberg Mellgren, Director of Oceaneering’s Offshore Projects Group, Europe and the Middle East (EME). “We are excited about the opportunity to work closely with Aker BP and are confident that this project will lead to mutual success and opportunities for innovation.” The news follows multiple contracts that Oceaneering secured in the Gulf of Mexico. Namely, the U.S. company was first hired to deliver an electro-hydraulic, steel tube dynamic umbilical to a domestic independent energy company, and later on secured multiple contracts for vessel services in the region. The latter contractual agreements were signed with what are said to be “global energy companies” to provide vessel services covering operations in the Gulf of Mexico.
