Swacch Bio, a leading manufacturer of lignocellulosic biofuels, has announced plans to establish a 250KLPD second-generation cellulosic biofuel plant in Telangana. The company will invest over ?1,000 crore in the first phase of the project, which is expected to create 500 jobs—250 at the plant and 250 in support and ancillary roles.
Praveen Paripati, Chairperson of Swacch Bio, made the announcement following a meeting with Telangana Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy and his team during the Chief Ministers current tour of the US.
Swacch Bios international partner, Suganit Biorenewables, has developed a patented technology for producing biofuels and biochemicals from biomass and cellulose. The State government has assured full support for the investment, according to an official statement.
Looking ahead, Swacch Bio plans to establish additional plants in Telangana, aiming to position the state as a major hub for biofuels. |
