In the midst of the housing shortage, the Corrientes Housing Institute (Invico) reaffirms its commitment to improving the quality of life and access to decent housing for Corrientes families. That is why during the 2024-2025 period, Invico has focused on meeting the objectives of provincial housing policies, prioritizing the construction and delivery of housing.
The agency reported that so far in 2024, 143 homes have already been delivered and 2,000 new housing units are under construction. Of these, 164 are located in the Santa Catalina neighborhood of the Capital and are close to being delivered.
In this context, the “Oñondivé” program played a very important role in the construction of housing, reflecting its positive impact on the provincial housing infrastructure, since this program, financed with funds from the Province, has allowed the distribution of housing in multiple localities benefiting a large sector of the population. In 2024, 87 homes were delivered under this program, and more than 900 are currently under construction in various localities.
In addition, Invico continues to carry out the comprehensive urbanization of the capitals neighborhoods of La Chola, Doctor Montaña and El Cocal. It also carries out the construction of more than 100 housing solutions for families who are in situations of extreme vulnerability.
OTHER WORKS IN PROGRESS
Among the infrastructure works underway, the first section of Niní Flores Avenue in the capital of Corrientes stands out, a project that seeks to improve urban traffic and relieve congestion on Maipú and Iberá avenues, in addition to urbanizing surrounding neighborhoods. Also the construction of seven police stations distributed in Gobernador Virasoro (2), Paso de la Patria, Santo Tomé, Santa Rosa, Monte Caseros and Capital (Campus Unne) with the construction of seven more planned.
Also, the construction of a Plastic Recycling Plant for the production of ecological bricks, the refurbishment and enhancement of the Sanmartiniano Museum, both works in Capital. A SUM in Sauce; renovations in the Nuestra Señora de las Mercedes church, in Mercedes; renovations of the Spanish Society and the San José parish, in Saladas; a new Sports Center in San Cosme and the first stage of the Chavarría Social Club.
Other emblematic works due to their significance for all Corrientes residents include the enhancement of the Sanmartiniano Museum, which includes the renovation and construction of new services and sectors. The General Archive of the Province, a building that houses a vast and rich history and background of the province, both works in this city.
In addition, the first Plastic Recycling Centre is under construction for the production of ecological bricks. The renovation of several churches that make up the religious heritage, among the most important for their significance we can mention: the Nuestra Señora de las Mercedes church, in Mercedes; renovations of the San José parish, in Saladas. Other works that are also being carried out in different towns in the province are: the new Sports Centre in San Cosme, the Chavarría Social Club, the Spanish Society of Saladas and countless others, too extensive to detail.
During 2023, Invico provided more than 700 housing solutions, in addition to carrying out important urban infrastructure works that benefited more than 4,000 families. These achievements were reached despite economic difficulties and the lack of federal resources. |
