Work Detail K-RIDE (Rail Infrastructure Development Company Karnataka Ltd) has issued a tender for Corridor-1A of the Bengaluru Suburban Railway Project, marking a significant step in the development of the citys suburban rail network. This corridor will connect Bengaluru railway station to Yelahanka railway station, with the second phase planned to extend from Yelahanka to Kempegowda International Airport (KIA). The total value of the Corridor-1A tender is Rs 1,422 crore. The scope of work includes the construction of both elevated and at-grade sections over a total distance of 17.63 kilometers. Specifically, the tender package involves the design and construction of a 14.213 km elevated viaduct, a 3.417 km at-grade section, seven station buildings, and a Railway Over Bridge. For the first time, K-RIDE is awarding this contract to a single entity rather than dividing it into smaller tenders, a shift from their previous approach. This decision follows lessons learned from ongoing projects in Corridor-2 and Corridor-4 of the Bengaluru Suburban Rail Project. According to K-RIDE officials, this tender represents the highest value contract issued in the project to date.
