Two companies from Necochea submitted bids for the tender to repair the heating system at Secondary School No. 7 (formerly Commercial), which is urgently awaiting replacement of its boilers because it does not have the service.
The opening ceremony of the envelopes took place at the Municipal Planning and Public Works and Services Secretariat. On the one hand, the firm Kosko SRL presented an offer of approximately $74,400,000, while Bupa SRL offered $74,200,000.
The difference in the price between the two was approximately 200 thousand pesos and the municipalitys Purchasing department was carrying out an analysis of the documentation yesterday. It is estimated that the tender will be awarded to the company with the lowest financial offer.
"As fast as possible"
“We are going to try to do it as quickly as possible,” said the Municipality’s Undersecretary of Public Services, Juan Manuel de la Calle, who listed the administrative steps that must be completed from now on. First, the award certificate must be drawn up, the work guarantee policies must be requested, the contract must be signed and registered, and finally, the start certificate with the date from which the work term begins to run.
According to the terms and conditions, the company has 90 days to carry out the work.
“The first thing to do is to scrap the old boiler and the problem is not cutting it but removing it because the space to work is quite limited, that is what will take the longest,” said the official. While the scrapping is being done, at the same time work will be done on the gas installation so that, once the old equipment is removed, the new boilers can be installed.
The school, which is currently on break, was operating without heating in the middle of winter. To get through the cold days, the school decided on a special schedule, which included some in-person classes and others online. The school management will surely
evaluate how to continue after the holidays, depending on the cold weather that is recorded until the work is finished.
In December of last year, Camuzzi closed the boiler during a review of the gas installations for not complying with current Enargas regulations. Because it is an expensive project, the School Board had to manage the funds to replace the boiler and only now is the administrative process being able to be completed, based on an agreement between the Municipality and the Province.
On the other hand, the work on the gas installation at the Vocational Training Center No. 401 in Quequén was completed, based on an agreement also between the Province and the Municipality. In this case, the budget was approximately nine million pesos.
