Work Detail | Construction of the Raxaul-Amalekhgunj Petroleum Product Pipe Line, going to be constructed with joint investment of Nepal and India for smooth supply of petroleum products, is to begin within the next four months. The construction task of the project would start after December 30, 2016 when survey and study of most of the areas of the project are likely to be completed by then. According to the Nepal Oil Corporation, different process including survey of soil and 'hydrological test' of Sirsiya river, the construction site, have reached final stage. NOC Spokesperson Bhanubhakta Khanal said that the Detailed Project Report would be received by September 10 and study of some technical aspect would be carried out after the DPR. The DPR would get final shape within November and NOC has been carrying out works in order to start construction work from the month of December. Khanal said that the government has to provide 33.6 hectare of land for the construction of the project. An agreement signed between Nepal and India estimated the cost of Rs 2.75 billion to construct around 37.34 kilometres pipe line from Raxaul to Amalekhgunj. India has to bear Rs 2 billion while Nepal will invest Rs 750 million for the same, according to the agreement. RSS |
