The National Capital Region Transport Corporation (NCRTC) announced on Sunday the completion of construction for three bridges over the Ghazipur drain as part of the Anand Vihar RRTS stations multimodal integration. These bridges are integral components of the Delhi-Ghaziabad-Meerut RRTS corridor, nearing completion at Anand Vihar station, officials reported.
Strategically located within the Delhi segment of the RRTS corridor, the Anand Vihar RRTS station now seamlessly connects with the Anand Vihar Metro station, offering direct access to multiple modes of transport, officials noted. The construction of the three bridges, crucial for station access, has been finalized, with final finishing work currently in progress.
At the concourse level, the station is intricately linked to the Blue and Pink Lines of the Anand Vihar Metro station. Ongoing efforts focus on flooring and finishing touches to ensure smooth passenger flow between the two stations.
NCRTC has installed escalators and lifts to enhance accessibility and convenience for passengers, officials emphasized. The newly constructed bridges over the Ghazipur drain play a vital role in connecting the station to the main road, with ongoing work including the installation of side walls and preparations for carpeting.
Each bridge serves a specific purpose: one for vehicle entry (10 metres wide, 28 metres long), another for vehicle exit (13 metres wide, 28 metres long), and a third for pedestrians (5 metres wide, 25 metres long), according to officials.
Designed to facilitate seamless connectivity, the Anand Vihar RRTS station aligns with comprehensive multimodal integration plans, ensuring a superior travel experience for all passengers, including elderly, women, and children.
Upon commencement of operations, passengers will benefit from effortless movement between the metro station, Anand Vihar Railway Station, Anand Vihar ISBT, Kaushambi bus terminal, and the DTC intra-state bus terminal, officials concluded. |
