According to the company, the plants for Corporación Favorita and Kentucky Fried Chicken are the largest ground-based solar projects in Ecuador for industrial clients.
SolarTeam announced the completion of two photovoltaic projects for industrial clients in Ecuador. One is a 2.4 MWp ground-mounted plant for Corporación Favorita; and another, 2.5 MWp, for Kentucky Fried Chicken. According to the company, these are “the largest ground-mounted solar projects in Ecuador for corporate clients.”
The plant for Corporación Favorita is located in Quito-Sangolquí, and supplies 100% of the renewable solar energy demand of 20 commercial premises.
It is made up of 4,368 550 Wp solar panels from the Chinese manufacturer Jinko Solar and Huawei inverters (100 KTL, 60 KTL and 40 KTL).
The Kentucky Fried Chicken solar farm, for its part, is located in Inga-Quito, and supplies power to 26 KFC stores in the capital of Ecuador. According to SolarTeam, it is also “the first commercial self-supply project in Ecuador to have generation in a different location from its demand.”
It is made up of fewer photovoltaic modules than the previous project; specifically, 2,720 550 Wp solar panels from the Chinese manufacturer Jinko Solar, and Huawei inverters (100 KTL, 60 KTL and 40 KTL). Both use mounting structures and DC wiring from German manufacturer Jurchen Technology. |
