The Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT) is investing $900,000 to mill and resurface 1.4 miles of M-185 from the west to the east city limits of Mackinac Island in Mackinac County and upgrade sidewalk ramps to Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) standards. This project includes a three-year materials and workmanship pavement warranty. Pedestrian traffic will be maintained throughout the project using signs, detours and temporary sidewalk ramps. Resurfacing work is scheduled to take place at night. Some segments of M-185 will be closed to horse and buggy traffic for limited periods during construction. Completion of the resurfacing is expected to be Tuesday, Nov. 15. |
