What happened to the sale of construction materials in May
Due to the recession, the sale of construction materials fell during the fifth month of the year. The Construya Group reported that in May shipments registered an improvement compared to April, but remained well below the quantities reached in 2023.
The Construya index measures the evolution of volumes sold to the private sector of construction products manufactured by leading companies in the sector. These products include ceramic bricks, Portland cement, lime, long steel, aluminum carpentry, adhesives and pastes, waterproofing paints, toilets, boilers and heating systems, taps and water pipes, floors, ceramic coatings, and electrical and electronics.
“Although current sales reflect a decrease of 30% compared to the same period last year, the Group highlights a positive change in the supply trend. In the last two months, the total amount of inputs shipped to the market has shown a slight improvement, after several months of continuous decline,” they explained. |
