In a recent development, a petition was filed regarding the approval of tariff rates for solar power projects under the PM-KUSUM scheme’s Component-C (feeder-level solarization). The petitioner, expressing satisfaction that their petition was initially approved by the Commission on May 1, 2024, later discovered errors related to 38 out of 1111 power generators listed. These errors included mistakes in sub-station details, plant names, SPV capacities, and errors in financial assistance claims (CFA).
Attributing these discrepancies to typographical errors during the compilation of the list, the petitioner emphasized that correcting these would not alter the order’s merits or impact. They filed a review petition seeking corrections specifically for the 38 power plants affected, providing detailed annexures outlining the errors.
Following thorough consideration of the petitioner’s arguments and submissions during hearings, the Rajasthan Electricity Regulatory Commission (RERC) acknowledged the inadvertent nature of the errors. Consequently, invoking their review jurisdiction, the Commission decided to grant the petitioner’s request to review and correct the order dated May 1, 2024, solely concerning the 38 identified power plants.
However, it was clarified that all other terms and directives of the original order remain unchanged, with the Commission reaffirming the compliance obligations for the Distribution Companies (Discom). The Commission concluded by advising the petitioner to exercise vigilance in future applications, particularly concerning matters with commercial implications.
