Work Detail The Municipal Institute of Markets of Barcelona has initiated a tender process for the construction of two photovoltaic installations designed for self-consumption at the Sants Market and the Sant Antoni Market. The project, divided into two lots, has a total budget of 949,230 euros. Interested parties have until July 1 to submit their offers. The photovoltaic installation at the Sant Antoni Market will consist of 630 black-framed solar panels, each with a capacity of 440 watts. These panels will be distributed across four pergolas, resulting in a total installation capacity of 260 kilowatts (kW). The setup will include three 60 kW three-phase inverters and one 80 kW three-phase inverter. The installation will maximize the available space on the flat-roofed pergolas, covering a total area of 1,259 square meters. Specifically, the photovoltaic pergola on Tamarit Street will have a capacity of 60 kW, the one on Comte Borrell Street will also have 60 kW, the pergola on Manso Street will have 80 kW, and the pergola on Comte d’Urgell Street will have 60 kW, bringing the total capacity to 260 kW. The installation will utilize a prefabricated aluminum structure with stainless steel rivet fixings integrated into the flat roof, all in black. EPDM adhesive profiles will be employed to prevent corrosion of galvanized materials. The pergolas themselves are constructed from hot-rolled steel. The solar panels will be installed at a 5-degree inclination with a vertical orientation. The Sants Market installation, located on Sant Jordi Street, will feature 240 photovoltaic modules with a black profile, each with a capacity of 440 watts. This installation will have a total capacity of 100 kW, covering an area of 479.55 square meters. This setup will include a 100 kW inverter with ten maximum power point trackers (MPPTs). According to simulation results, the Sants Market installation is expected to produce approximately 116.59 megawatt-hours (MWh) of electricity annually. The tender process underscores Barcelona’s commitment to sustainable energy solutions and the promotion of renewable energy sources within the city.
