Meghalaya Introduces New Regulations To Boost Green Energy Open Access The Meghalaya State Electricity Regulatory Commission (MSERC) has introduced new “Terms and Conditions of Green Energy Open Access” regulations to promote renewable energy use. Effective upon notification, these regulations provide guidelines for determining charges and access for green energy consumers with a load of 100 kW or more. They outline access classifications and designate nodal agencies for overseeing implementation. The initiative aims to facilitate renewable energy adoption, reduce reliance on fossil fuels, and support environmental sustainability in Meghalaya. SECI Launches ISTS-XVI Tender: Bidding Open For 1,200 MW ISTS-Connected Solar Power Projects In India The Solar Energy Corporation of India (SECI) has issued a Request for Selection (RfS) to develop 1,200 MW of ISTS-connected solar PV projects. Developers must set up projects and transmission networks at their own expense, with a bid submission end date of July 12, 2024. A single bid can cover 50-600 MW, with penalties for delays in supply. An Earnest Money Deposit of ?9,42,000 per MW is required. Successful bidders must provide a Performance Bank Guarantee of ?23,55,000 per MW before signing the Power Purchase Agreement. SECI’s ISTS-XV Scheme For 1,200 MW Solar PV Power Projects With Energy Storage Systems In India SECI has issued an RfS for 1,200 MW ISTS-connected Solar PV Power Projects with 600 MW/1,200 MWh Energy Storage Systems. Developers must set up projects and transmission networks, with ESS installation mandated. Selection involves e-bidding and e-Reverse Auction, with bids ranging from 50 MW to 600 MW. Part Commencement of supply is allowed, with penalties for delays. Successful bidders need to provide a Performance Bank Guarantee valid for 12 months post SCSD. This initiative aims to boost solar power deployment with storage, supporting India’s renewable energy objectives. NHPC Initiates Tender for 1.2 GW Solar Power Projects in India NHPC has issued a tender for 1.2 GW ISTS-connected solar power projects across India, marking a substantial opportunity for renewable energy expansion. The tender requires a fee of ?3,54,000 and an EMD of ?9,42,000, with bidding open from June 19 to June 29, 2024. This initiative supports India’s renewable energy goals, aiming to boost solar capacity and reduce fossil fuel dependency. Commission Grants Open Access Approval For Solar Power In Raipur, Chhattisgarh M/s Avinash Developers Pvt. Ltd. sought an exemption from needing a dedicated feeder for their 3 MW solar power plant in Goukheda, Chhattisgarh, to supply power to Magnato The Mall and Club Parasio. The Chhattisgarh State Power Distribution and Transmission companies agreed, provided conditions like installing appropriate metering and data communication equipment were met. The commission approved the exemption, noting previous similar exemptions and the company’s compliance with conditions, allowing open access power distribution to their facilities. Lubi Pumps Unveils 4 MW Solar Power Plant In Shinavada, Modasa On World Environment Day, Lubi Pumps inaugurated an advanced 4 MW solar power plant in Shinavada, Modasa, covering 8 acres. Equipped with 7270 Mono-PERC bifacial solar modules made by Lubi Solar, the plant generates 22,000 units daily and about 70 lakh units annually. This initiative marks a major step towards Lubi Group’s carbon neutrality and renewable energy goals, with plans to double the capacity for further manufacturing needs, ensuring sustainable and clean energy for their operations. Gujarat Commission Rejects Sldc Petition For Additional Deviation Charges The Gujarat SLDC filed a petition with the GERC to recover charges from entities deviating from scheduled electricity supply, citing grid imbalances and additional costs. Major companies were involved, but many were absent during hearings. GERC noted SLDC’s longstanding role and recent policy developments, emphasizing the existing DSM regulations adopted in 2014.
