Norwegian ocean services provider DeepOcean has been awarded a recycling project from an undisclosed ‘international operator’ on the UK continental shelf. The contract will be overseen from DeepOcean’s Aberdeen office with offshore activities scheduled during 2024. The campaign spans over 120 days and is segmented into five sub-campaigns, each addressing specific tasks crucial for the decommissioning process. These campaigns include the recovery of concrete mattresses, spools, flexibles, flowlines, jumpers, suction anchors, multiple structures, and final debris clearance with the addition of a subsea rock installation campaign to conduct final seabed remediation. DeepOcean will employ the vessel 2016-built offshore construction vessel Edda Freya, which is on charter from Østensjø Rederi, along with the 2014-built CSV Normand Jarstein, on charter from Solstad. Upon successful recovery, all items will be transported and offloaded onshore for appropriate reuse, recycling, or disposal. |
