Work Detail Powered by 20 of Vestas 6.2MW turbines, the wind farm is expected to begin operations in 2026. Latvian state-owned electric utility company Latvenergo has completed the purchase of a 124MW Telšiai wind farm in Lithuania. The wind farm, previously owned by Utilitas Wind, a wind developer in the Baltics, is expected to commence energy production in the first quarter of 2026. The wind farm will feature 20 6.2MW turbines to be supplied and installed by Vestas. Merko statyba UAB, a construction services provider, is responsible for building the necessary infrastructure, including connection facilities, access roads, cable networks, and turbine foundations. Utilitas Wind will oversee project management. The total estimated cost for constructing the wind farm is approximately €200m. Upon completion, the Telšiai wind farm is projected to produce sufficient electricity to power over 125,000 households annually.
