These are plants located in the departments of La Libertad and Santa Ana, which combine hydroelectric and photovoltaic generation. They have been put into operation by CECSA, a subsidiary of the state National Electricity Transmission Entity (ENTE).
CECSA, a subsidiary of the National Electrical Transmission Entity (ENTE), a company dedicated to energy generation in the small hydroelectric power plant sector, has inaugurated the first two hybrid power plants in El Salvador, with hydroelectric and photovoltaic production under the same connection.
They are located in the towns of San Matías, department of La Libertad, and San Luis, in Santa Ana, for a total of 5.1 MW of injection into the national electrical grid.
The CECSA San Matías hybrid plant has a total installed power of 4.9 MW, divided into 4.1 MW hydro and 785 kWp photovoltaic. Meanwhile, CECSA San Luis proposes 700 kW hydro and 300 kW photovoltaic. In total, 1,500 bifacial monocrystalline photovoltaic panels have been installed.
The company reports that the projects, which have involved an investment of 1.6 million dollars, will provide electricity to more than 14,000 homes. |
