Work Detail |
Azad Engineering has bagged a contract from the Gas Turbine Research Establishment (GTRE) under Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) for end-to-end manufacturing, assembly and integration of completely-assembled advanced turbo engine for India’s defence programmes. Deliveries of the first batch of the fully integrated turbo gas generator engines will begin early 2026.
The Hyderabad-based precision engineering and manufacturing company will play a vital role as a single source partner to GTRE. The engine is designed with a single-spool turbojet setup, incorporating components such as a four-stage axial flow compressor, an annular combustor, a single-stage axial flow uncooled turbine, and a fixed exit area nozzle. This sophisticated propulsion system is useful in various defence applications.
The company has expanded its manufacturing capabilities to provide end-to-end production for a fully assembled advanced turbo engine, creating the opportunity to build a complete solution for propulsion system for the country and global defence requirements.
India has consistently showcased its ability to create top-notch engine designs with indigenous technology, which can deliver the desired output or meet mission-critical objectives. |
