Work Detail JSW Cement announced plans on Tuesday to invest approximately ?3,000 crore to establish a 3.30-MTPA clinkerisation unit and a 2.50-MTPA grinding unit in Nagpura district, Rajasthan. The project will also include an 18 MW waste heat recovery-based power plant. The investment will feature a 7 km long overland belt conveyor for transporting limestone from the mines to the manufacturing plant, as well as facilities for using alternative fuels in the kiln. JSW Cement stated that the proposed investment will be financed through a combination of equity and long-term debt. This strategic move aims to bolster the company’s market leadership. The company is also awaiting regulatory approval to acquire 10.75 MTPA from Kesoram Industries, a significant step towards increasing its production capacity. Meanwhile, rival Ambuja-ACC plans to raise its capacity to 140 MTPA by FY28 from the current 79 MTPA, funded through internal accruals. Ambuja-ACC reported cash reserves of ?24,338 crore at the end of FY24.
