Santa Fe. The Government of the province signed yesterday in Buenos Aires a debt payment agreement with the Transitory Business Union (UTE), composed of Víctor M. Contreras and CÍA. SA – Semisa Infraestructura SA, with the aim of completing the Gran Santa Fe gas pipeline in April 2025.
The agreement signed yesterday in the city of Buenos Aires between the president of Enerfe (The provincial company carrying out the work), Rodolfo Giacosa, and the representatives of the construction companies, corresponds to a debt of $1,088 million that was accumulated due to non-payment since June 2023.
Based on what was signed, UTE has to complete 1,800 meters of laying in seven different points in the La Capital department, to have all the pipes connected. In addition to crossing the western ring road, the crossing of provincial route 2 and the laying of the defense embankment in the coastal area are also pending.
The Secretary of Energy, Verónica Gesse, had said in March that they expected to finish the work in July - August 2024, something that is not going to happen. Giacosa explained that "The work itself was not paralyzed because the companies were working in workshops to build equipment for connection to the main gas pipeline, pressure reduction, lifting stations and other equipment."
Throughout its 42 kilometers, the Gran Santa Fe Gasduct will benefit more than 250,000 inhabitants of Santa Fe Ciudad, Esperanza, Recreo, Monte Vera, San José del Rincón, Arroyo Aguiar, Arroyo Leyes and Ángel Gallardo. The provincial work will also benefit 7,000 industries and businesses, as well as 1,600 institutions that today do not have natural gas through the network.
The Gran Santa Fe gas pipeline will take natural gas from the Gasoducto del Noreste Argentino (GNEA) at the height of Esperanza and will pass to the south of Recreo and Monte Vera, almost on the border with the city of Santa Fe, which will be able to add northern neighborhoods to the system . From Monte Vera an extension is planned to Arroyo Aguiar, while from the brand new city it will go below Setúbal to San José del Rincón and Arroyo Leyes.
