Work Detail |
Revolution Wind, the USs first multi-state offshore wind project, has achieved its "steel in the water" milestone with the installation of the projects inaugural turbine foundation. Upon completion, Revolution Wind will produce 400MW of offshore wind power for Rhode Island (RI) and 304MW for Connecticut.
During the offshore construction phase, various vessels including construction and transport barges, cable installation vessels, tugboats, supply and support vessels, and protected species observer monitor vessels will be active at the offshore site. A diverse range of professionals, including vessel operators, engineers, welders, scientists, and many others, are involved in this operation.
Simultaneously, onshore construction progresses in North Kingstown, RI, focusing on the projects transmission system. Situated roughly 15 miles south of the Rhode Island coast and 32 miles southeast of the Connecticut coast, the Revolution Wind project site is adjacent to Ørsted and Eversources South Fork Wind, Americas first utility-scale offshore wind farm. Revolution Wind is slated to commence operation in 2025. |
