Work Detail | Bank of China (Hong Kong) (2388) will roll out a 24-hour video banking service in Sha Tin, but said service digitalization will not entail layoff of staff. It said the video bank that it will set up at Shui Cheun O Estate in Sha Tin will provide most services available in physical branches, including application for credit card, personal loan, mortgage, travel insurance and registration of payroll service. Customers will no longer be restricted by the opening hours of branches, it said. Existing customers can also skip queues on account opening, integrated account service upgrade, banknote reservation and document submission. Inquiry services can also be made at the unit. The lender's two existing video banks are located in Tsuen Wan and Discovery Bay. One more video bank station will be set up in Central before the end of the year, bringing to four the number of its video banking units. A team of ten staff is currently in charge of the video banks. BOCHK chief executive Yue Yi said the video bank at Shui Cheun O Estate will bring banking services to residents as the public housing estate is not near Sha Tin town center. The lender is also enticing small- and medium-size enterprises to take out loans of more than HK$1 million by providing them with insurance premium subsidies. |
