There were 52 offers in the new Provincial tender for works to seal cracks in the routes.
These new maintenance works promoted by the government of Maximiliano Pullaro will be divided into 8 groups according to each Road Zone Headquarters and represent more than 2.9 billion of investment pesos.
The Ministry of Public Works, through the Provincial Directorate of Roads, carried out the opening of envelopes to carry out 8 groups of works to seal cracks in flexible pavements of provincial routes in the 19 departments. These works, which have not been applied to the provincial road network for a long time, are a kind of waterproofing technique to prevent leaks and subsequent breaks.
The event was headed by the administrator of Provincial Highways, Pablo Seghezzo, along with the deputy administrators, Benjamín Gianetti and Sergio Cardozo, and took place in the offices of Provincial Highways, headquarters in the city of Santa Fe.
Greater interest in working with the Province
For his part, the Minister of Public Works, Lisandro Enrico, when asked about the number of offers from contractors, stated: «In this opening of envelopes there were 52 offers to carry out the work. "With Governor Maximiliano Pullaro we are working so that in each public tender for provincial works there is a high number of companies with the intention of carrying out the work."
«The high participation of companies partly describes the interest of contractors in wanting to work with a Provincial State that is transparent for assignments and does not concentrate the works in a few companies. "We represent a Government that is committed to complying with payment contracts in a timely manner," he added.
Road work increases in Santa Fe
In this framework, administrator Seghezzo expressed the importance of road works in the province: “we are working to recover the passability of provincial routes, starting with these works to seal cracks, something that was not done many years ago, and "It must be done precisely so that the routes are maintained."
“And in this bidding act, we covered many routes in the province and we are satisfied with the large number of companies that presented themselves to the price comparison, realizing the transparency in management as requested by Governor Maximiliano Pullaro and our Minister Lisandro. Enrico,” Seghezzo stressed.
The scheduled works are due to the fact that the presence of cracks in the bearing surface, together with the variation in the behavior of the pavement, enhances the deterioration of the structures, allowing water to enter the lower layers and reducing the bearing capacity. Consequently, sealing cracks with polymer-modified asphalt is essential, in order to prolong the useful life of each roadway.
The works period is four months and it should be noted that the specifications do not indicate specific sections of routes where action must be taken but rather they will be defined through works inspections.
With a total budget of $2,945,065,464, the groups are formed according to each of the 10 area headquarters of the distribution, with the purpose of improving the passability of each route.

Group 3: Zone III Headquarters (Rafaela) – With an official budget of $456,236,264, 7 companies presented themselves: Rava SA de Construcciones quoted $510,132,170; UT Mem Engineering SA – Conhormaq SRL quoted $449,210,000; Luis Losi SA quoted $387,781,307; Construction company Pilatti SA quoted $390,449,348.92; q Laromet SA quoted $547,416,600; Néstor Julio Guerechet SA quoted $525,019,609; and the seventh and last offer corresponding to the company Obring SA which quoted $469,924,777.
