Work Detail |
The Mattoon facility will manufacture various K-Roc products, including the K-Roc HF Series, which was introduced last year. Offering up to a three-hour fire rating in wall applications and a one-hour fire rating in ceiling applications, the HF Series comes in thicknesses of 4 inches, 6 inches, and 8 inches, catering to diverse aesthetic styles with five different profile options and a choice of embossed or non-embossed finishes.
Currently, the K-Roc series is exclusively manufactured at Kingspan’s Langley facility in British Columbia, Canada. With the addition of the Mattoon site, Kingspan aims to strategically position itself to capitalize on business growth opportunities across North America.
Alswinn Kieboom, President of Kingspan Insulated Panels North America, expressed excitement about the new facility, emphasizing its role in enhancing customer accessibility and supporting the company’s continued expansion efforts.
In alignment with Kingspan’s global sustainability initiative, Planet Passionate, the Mattoon facility will incorporate sustainability upgrades. These include solar roof panels, a rainwater harvesting tank, energy-efficient LED lighting, electric vehicle charging stations, and a recycling system, contributing to efforts to address climate change, circularity, and environmental protection.
The opening of the Mattoon facility is anticipated in early 2025 and is expected to generate approximately 50 new jobs in the area, providing an economic boost to the local community.
Kingspan’s decision to establish a new manufacturing facility in Mattoon reflects its commitment to meeting the growing demand for sustainable building materials in North America. With a focus on innovation and sustainability, the new facility will not only contribute to local job creation but also reinforce Kingspan’s position as a leader in the industry. |
