In a notable move towards bolstering its commitment to sustainability and renewable energy, Luminous Power Technologies, India’s premier energy solutions provider, has officially opened its Solar Panel Factory in Rudrapur, Uttarakhand. The inauguration ceremony, attended by distinguished guests including legendary cricketer and Luminous Brand Ambassador Sachin Tendulkar, marked a pivotal moment in the company’s journey towards fostering positive change and aligning with the solar vision and sustainability objectives of the nation.
Equipped with state-of-the-art technology and infrastructure, the facility stands as a testament to Luminous’ dedication to maximizing efficiency while minimizing environmental impact. With renowned figures such as Preeti Bajaj, CEO & MD of Luminous Power Technologies, and Manish Pant, Chairman of Luminous Board & Executive VP – International Operations, Schneider Electric, gracing the occasion, the event underscored the company’s strategic business decisions to transition towards an end-to-end solar energy management ecosystem.
Speaking at the inauguration, Ms. Preeti Bajaj emphasized the significance of the Solar Panel Factory in Rudrapur, highlighting its role in advancing India’s journey towards Net-Zero emissions. She reiterated Luminous’ commitment to sustainable practices and reducing carbon footprint, citing solar energy as a major growth enabler for the company in the coming years.
Echoing these sentiments, Mr. Manish Pant highlighted the remarkable progress India has made in solar power capacity development, attributing it to governmental initiatives such as the ‘Pradhan Mantri Suryodaya Yojana’. He emphasized the factory’s contribution to the vision of an Atmanirbhar Bharat and its role in promoting net-zero practices and sustainable energy solutions.
The Solar Panel Factory in Rudrapur, sprawling over 10 acres, stands as the largest of its kind in Uttarakhand. Boasting full automation and cutting-edge manufacturing technologies, including robotic automation capabilities, the plant has an initial capacity of 250MW, expandable up to 1 GW.
In addition to the factory inauguration, Luminous also unveiled the Luminous Experience Centre and an Experience on Wheels Bus during the event, providing attendees with immersive experiences and insights into solar energy solutions.
Moreover, Luminous has solidified a strategic partnership with The University of New South Wales, Australia, aimed at advancing solar panel projects and technological prowess through research and collaboration.
