This is Stage II, of the consulting service for the development of a water resources management model.
The Undersecretary of Water Resources, dependent on the Ministry of Infrastructure and Public Services of the province of Buenos Aires, through the Luján River Basin Committee (ComiLu), carried out the tender for the Comprehensive Management Plan for the Luján River Basin – Stage II A and B, financed by the Development Bank of Latin America (CAF), whose official budget is $938,910,351.42, and for which a total of four offers were presented.
The objective of the work is to hire the services of a consulting firm that designs an Integrated Management Plan for the Basin, agreed upon with its stakeholders.
The tasks include a diagnosis of the current and potential situation of the Basin, which directly and indirectly impacts water resources. Likewise, an evaluation of the current management model will be carried out and the development of a mathematical model of the Basin, which considers current land uses and their future impacts.
Among other tasks, a geographic information system will be carried out for the Basin that complements the existing one, while the development of an Integrated Management Plan, made up of an information and management system, a control board and a strategic environmental evaluation. of the agreed plan.
It should be noted that the planning process began with the Plan that was formulated in 2015 in the study “Comprehensive Plan and Project for Regulation and Sanitation Works of the Luján River” and continued at the beginning of 2021, with the expansion of the Comprehensive Water Management Plan.
