Work Detail | Seawork International is renowned as the commercial marine industry’s ‘one stop shop’, where maritime buyers are able to source everything they require as well as extend their business reach across three invaluable days. Over 7,500 attendees discovered the wealth of multitude of equipment, knowledge and skills showcased by Seawork’s exhibitors. Designer and builder of autonomous surface vehicles, ASV, exhibited the first autonomous vessel shown at Seawork. The newly launched ‘C-Worker 5’ is one of over 75 systems manufactured by the company and was specifically designed for hydrographic survey work. The 5m long vessel operates at sea for seven days at a speed of 7 knots, carrying sensors and transmitters. First time Seawork exhibitor, Canadian based Ocean Rodeo showcased its innovative new technology commercial marine drysuits, featuring stand-by mode to switch between full drysuit and foul weather gear modes. The pioneering giant, BAE Systems is also a regular at Seawork. Sharon Anthony of BAE Systems enthused, “This is a prime event for BAE Systems to promote it range of vessels into the wide marketplace.” Regular Norwegian Seawork exhibitor, Henriksen Hooks, launched a revolutionary new electrically controlled lifting hook system at Seawork, developed for use when a boat is being deployed by the use of fore and aft lifting hooks. The new system uses a remote control and an electrical release mechanism to ensure that both hooks open simultaneously when off-load, thus avoiding the potential hazard of a boat inadvertently remaining attached to the ship by one lifting line. Henriksen Hooks’ Ole Rasmus Undrum says, “It is one of the most important shows of the year for us as it enables us to reach customers in all of our key markets. It has been our target deadline in the development of some important new products and we launch them confident that Seawork will get them off to a good start." The technology and innovations are all enhanced by Seawork’s Innovations Showcase which provides the opportunity to see, at one time and in one place; new products, projects and vessels that have been introduced by Seawork exhibitors during the past year, all with a chance to win the coveted 'Spirit of Innovation' trophy. The Innovation Showcase, sponsored by URICA, displayed around 50 entries ranging from load testing, to vessels, through to training, safety, apparel and propulsion. These were judged on day one by the panel of judges, with the category and overall winner unveiled at the Seawork Innovations Awards and Networking event. The overall winner was Duodrive for the innovative Duodrivetrain, with Punk Couplings as runners-up. Seawork is also host the annual Seawork Conference, providing a comprehensive programme of seminars and sessions, devised to ensure that maritime professionals are up to date with all the latest developments in this rapidly evolving sector. As 91% of Seawork visitors authorise or influence the purchasing decisions for the companies they represent, being high-calibre, high-spending professionals who recognise the wealth of innovation and expertise, Seawork International provides the ideal platform for those who wish to reach this key audience, so don’t delay in booking your exhibition stand at Europe's largest commercial marine and workboat event. |
