Alpex Solar Limited, a prominent solar systems manufacturer in India, has secured significant orders from the Department of New & Renewable Energy Haryana (HAREDA), under the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Urja Suraksha evam Utthaan Mahabhiyan (PM-KUSUM Scheme), for the provision of 1434 solar water pumping systems. These systems, aimed at bolstering sustainable agricultural practices, will be installed across Haryana.
The company, based in Noida, received two major orders. The first, valued at Rs. 26.49 crore, involves the installation of 845 solar water pumps. The second order entails setting up 589 pumps with a contract value of Rs. 17.21 crore. These initiatives fall under the PM Kusum scheme’s Component-B, focusing on replacing traditional diesel pumps to enhance the efficiency of irrigation in off-grid areas.
Ashwani Sehgal, Managing Director of Alpex Solar Limited, expressed the company’s commitment to quality service and on-time delivery, emphasizing their goal to lead the solar water pumps market nationwide. He also highlighted the project’s positive impact on the rural economy and agriculture, contributing to food grain productivity and the well-being of farmers.
The PM-KUSUM scheme aligns with India’s energy security and environmental goals, including the target to achieve 40% non-fossil-fuel-based power capacity by 2030, as part of its Intended Nationally Determined Contributions (INDCs). This initiative also marks Alpex’s expansion into other green energy applications in agriculture, following their approval for similar projects in Rajasthan. |
