The relationship with Brazil is strengthened: a new tender for a key viaduct for Misiones is confirmed
In the last few hours it was confirmed that Brazil will call a new tender for the construction of the San Javier-Porto Xavier International Bridge. The Provinces actions promote innovation, productivity and attract the attention of the entire region. Next week, Governor Hugo Passalacqua will travel to Porto Alegre to advance a common integration agenda.
After the failure of a private companys tender for the construction of the long-awaited bridge that will link San Javier and Porto Xavier, Brazilian authorities confirmed a new call for the month of May. Bilateral negotiations between the neighboring country and the Province were a key to this step. The work will be fully financed by the Government of the Brazilian president, Luis Inácio “Lula” Da Silva. Next week, Governor Hugo Passalacqua will travel to Porto Alegre to meet with his counterpart from Rio Grande Do Sul, Eduardo Leite.
In this sense, despite the economic crisis at the national level due to adjustment measures, Misiones starts off on a different path, because it never stopped. In an unfavorable context for the implementation of various projects, the provincial government carries forward the banner of dialogue, negotiations, consensus and regional integration.
Thus, within the framework of his visit to outline the transnational agenda with the House of Representatives of Misiones, Brazilian legislator Eduardo Luoreiro confirmed a new call for bids for the construction of the bridge that will link San Javier (Argentina) with Porto Xavier (Brazil). ).

On Thursday, after the work day between the legislators of Misiones and Brazil, Passalacqua held a camaraderie meeting with the president of the Brazilian state parliament, Adolfo Brito. The main objective of the meeting was to strengthen institutional ties and explore projects of common interest for the region.
On the occasion, an exchange of cultural gifts was carried out as a symbolic gesture of mutual appreciation between both parties. In addition, the governor informed the Brazilian deputy about the details of his upcoming visit to the state of Rio Grande do Sul, as well as the expectations of establishing future cooperation agreements between both jurisdictions.
In this context, a joint work agenda was outlined that represents a significant step towards closer regional cooperation.
