Work Detail |
Dharavi Redevelopment Project Pvt Ltd, a collaborative effort between the Maharashtra government and the Adani Group, is gearing up to initiate a comprehensive survey to gather data from the multitude of informal tenement residents residing in Dharavi, starting March 18.
The data collected through this survey will serve as a crucial determinant for the State government in establishing eligibility criteria for the rehabilitation of residents under the proposed redevelopment endeavor.
Commencing from Kamla Raman Nagar, the survey will assign a unique identifier to each informal tenement. Subsequently, the process will entail laser mapping of the respective lanes, referred to as Lidar Survey. A proficient team will visit every tenement equipped with a specially developed application designed to scan relevant documents.
Dharavi, renowned as one of the largest slum clusters globally, accommodates thousands of industrial and commercial units engaged in the manufacturing of garments and leather goods. Many of these units serve as vendors for prominent national and international brands, with their products reaching markets worldwide, boasting turnovers amounting to millions of dollars. These enterprises are eager to formalize their operations, anticipating expanded opportunities locally and globally. |
