Work Detail | SLOVAKIA Strabag has been awarded a EUR 50 mln contract to building the Slovak National Football Stadium in Bratislava. The 22,000-seater venue is to be built on the site of the now demolished Tehelné pole stadium in the city's Pasienky district (5km northeast of the city centre) and should meet UEFA Category 4 requirements, meaning it will be suitable for international matches. “The National Football Stadium will give Slovakian football a modern sporting venue. We look forward to being able to apply our know-how here in the construction of stadium and sports facilities,” commented Thomas Birtel, the CEO of Strabag SE, which will not just be carrying out the structural work but also installing basic technological installations. The investor behind the project is NFŠ, while the architectural studio is Expo Line. The stadium should be completed in 2018. |
