Slovenske železnice, (Slovenian Railways) awarded a contract to Siemens Mobility’s subsidiary Hacon, for delivery, integration and maintenance of train-planning systems (TPS.plan), a software developed by Hacon.
We are very pleased that Slovenske železnice have chosen TPS.plan to become their timetable planning system and we are convinced that it will contribute to increased operational efficiency and stability,” said Frank Gerken, CEO of Hacon and Head of the TPS Business Segment within Siemens Mobility Software.
TPS.plan is an innovative software for timetable and train path management including a train path ordering module. Based on a microscopic representation of the rail infrastructure and considering various rolling stock and signalling characteristics it creates highly accurate timetables for strategic long-term planning, annual timetables and operational planning. It enables maximum utilisation of the railway infrastructure and short-term adaptation of timetables to the needs of the train operating companies and the conditions on the route.
“The main objective of the new solution is to integrate the ordering process and the construction of the network timetable, focusing on both micro-level planning and the efficient management of infrastructure constraints. TPS.plan optimises the planning of train routes and schedules, contributing to a significantly improved travel experience for our 15+ million passengers in 2023. Slovenian Railways is dedicated to ensuring the highest level of passenger satisfaction. The new timetable planning solution will bring us one step closer to achieving our stated target of 25 million passengers by 2028,” Matjaž Jelenic, CIO SŽ Group, said.
TPS.plan can be used stand-alone or in combination with other products from Hacon’s TPS.suite, like TPS.live for live dispatching and network-wide optimization or TPS.trackworks for rail construction site planning and coordination.
The train-planning systems is an integrated, modular software solution, Siemens Mobility’s TPS Suite combines infrastructure, timetables, and train-path management. The capability of the applications ranges from long-term timetable planning to real-time train dispatching, and track work coordination.
TPS.plan is already being used successfully by other European customers, e.g. by SNCF Réseau (France) or Network Rail (UK). |
