On March 10, 2024, Rajasthan Rajya Vidyut Utpadan Nigam Limited (RRVUNL), a State Government Undertaking under the Energy Department of Rajasthan, and Coal India Limited (CIL) sealed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) in Jaipur, Rajasthan. The objective behind this collaboration is to explore diverse avenues to fulfill the escalating energy requirements of Rajasthan. The primary focus of this MoU is to investigate the feasibility of establishing 4100 MW projects through a Joint Venture (JV) Company to be formed between RRVUNL and CIL. These projects will span across five identified areas, including Pit-head Thermal Power Project, Solar Projects at Solar Parks, Pumped Storage Projects, Solar Projects at Existing TPPs, and Wind Projects. Additionally, any other potential collaborations agreed upon by both parties will also fall within the scope of this MoU. As a preliminary step, Coal India Limited will undertake Pre-Feasibility Studies for these projects to determine their viability and pave the way for further progress. |
