Global renewable energy developer Hive Energy has finalized the acquisition of four early-stage solar projects from Polish developer T&T Proenergy (formerly 01Cyberaton SA). These projects are slated to be co-developed to the Ready to Build status.
The collaboration between Hive Energy and T&T Proenergy commenced in 2023 when Hive acquired three PV projects in Poland. Currently, the companies have an ongoing development agreement for a photovoltaic project portfolio totaling a minimum of 700 MW in the region. This agreement also includes options for potential partnership extensions in the future.
Poland’s government has demonstrated support for green energy adoption by adjusting legislation for transmission grid investments and spatial planning reforms. As a result, wind and solar power now account for more than 20% of the country’s electricity generation, marking a 16% increase from 2022. Poland aims to generate up to 70% of its electricity from clean sources by 2030, aligning with its ambitious green energy objectives for the next decade.
Hive Energy is actively exploring additional renewable energy opportunities to bolster Poland’s energy transition. These include greenfield PV, wind, battery energy storage, green hydrogen, as well as co-located projects and strategic partnerships. Poland emerges as an attractive investment region for the company due to the quality of its projects and developers, coupled with favorable energy prices and government-backed demand for renewable energy.
Artur Foksa, Hive Energy’s Polish Country Manager, expressed satisfaction with the collaborative partnership with T&T Proenergy, emphasizing their shared vision for a low-emission future. Foksa highlighted the substantial positive impact expected from the 700 MW project portfolio on Poland’s energy mix and its transition away from fossil fuels.
Hive Energy received legal, real estate, and environmental advisory support from SSW Law & Beyond, while Resline provided technical and environmental advisory services.
Roman Tabaka, CEO of T&T Proenergy, expressed delight in cooperating with Hive Energy and praised the professionalism of the joint team. Tabaka underscored the significance of expanding the investment portfolio with additional projects, with expectations for funds from the KPO (UE fund) to predominantly support energy transformation and grid expansion efforts. Tabaka reiterated their shared aspirations and goals in environmental preservation and building a brighter future for future generations. |
