Prime Minister Narendra Modi laid the foundation stone and dedicated to the nation for the launch of nine projects led by Bharat Petroleum Corporation (BPCL) at an event in Bengusarai, Bihar on 02 March, 2024. Out of these nine projects, four have already been completed, while the remaining five are slated for completion between 2024 and 2025.
Projects under foundation stone include Kalaburagi POL depot, spanning 56 acres, amounting to Rs 246 crore, and will serve districts like Gulbarga, Bidar, Yadgir, Bijapur, and Raichur, in north-eastern Karnataka. Another key project to ensure efficient fuel distribution is the city gas distribution (CGD) in Fazilka, Ganganagar, and Hanumangarh, covering Fazilka, Ganganagar, and Hanumangarh districts in Rajasthan and Punjab. It anticipates creating around one lakh mandays of employment.
Another project is POL & LOBS installation with receipt pipelines planned at Rasayani, in Raigad district of Maharashtra, wherein the lube oil blending and filling plant will replace the existing plant at Wadilube, ensuring efficient production and operation. The augmentation of cryogenic facilities at Uran LPG Import Terminal will enhance cryogenic facilities to import and decant propane and butane simultaneously, thereby increasing import capacity.
Projects which were inaugurated include New Kero Hydro Treater (KHT) unit at Mumbai Refinery, aimed at producing aviation turbine fuel (ATF), construction of POL Terminal with Railway Siding at Haveli, Pune, and POL Coastal Installation at Krishnapatnam, SPSR Nellore, Andhra Pradesh. |
