Work Detail |
The Provincial Government undertakes, with its own resources, the construction of the "Santa Librada" pipeline, a storm drain piping project that will reduce the risk of flooding in the San Ignacio, Cremonte, Ponce, Santa Rita and other neighborhoods, which are located in the eastern area of ??the city of Corrientes, thus improving the quality of life of its residents and promoting a habitable and safe environment. The line will be around 1,500 meters.
These works, carried out by the Ministry of Public Works and Services of the Province through its Execution Unit, extend along Santa Librada Street, in the San Ignacio neighborhood, from its intersection with Channel 4, crossing Raúl Alfonsín Avenue, to Provincial Route (RP) No. 5. Its main objective is to improve hydraulic conditions in the eastern area of ??the Capital, in order to face the challenges related to rainfall and ensure adequate sanitation of the affected neighborhoods.
This area experienced recurring flooding and waterlogging problems due to the lack of an efficient drainage system. Aware of the importance of guaranteeing a safe and healthy environment for residents, Governor Gustavo Valdés ordered these sanitation works that seek to mitigate the negative effects of precipitation through the establishment of an effective hydraulic system.
The main objective of this work is to provide a sustainable and lasting solution that allows adequate management of stormwater, thus avoiding risk situations for the population. And to achieve this, channeling and drainage tasks are carried out, optimizing the existing hydraulic network and guaranteeing an adequate flow and evacuation of rainwater, discharging into channel No. 4 and then completing its evacuation in a natural reservoir.
The work
In the first stage, on the route that goes from the vicinity of Raúl Alfonsín Avenue to Channel 4, where a reinforced concrete head was built at its mouth, a double-line battery of precast concrete tubes with a diameter of 1.20 and 4 inspection chambers were built every 175 meters. Meanwhile, in a second stage, a double line battery of premolded tubes with a diameter of 1.20 meters was installed along 270 meters, as a continuation of the double line already executed in the first stage, which leads to the channel N°4, which is located approximately 700 meters to the north of Alfonsín Avenue.
Currently, the material provides this storm drainage system with a simple line of 1.50m diameter concrete pipes along 400 meters, building inspection chambers every 50 meters with their respective drains, which totals seven storm mouths. The work continues, despite the climatic difficulties, with plans for new piping up to Route 5, which will end in an important collection chamber. |
