Odishas industrialization drive received a significant boost on Monday as the state government greenlit 22 projects collectively worth an investment of Rs 4,066 crore. These proposals garnered approval at the State Level Single Window Clearance Authority (SLSWCA) meeting presided over by Chief Secretary PK Jena.
The approved projects span various sectors including green energy equipment, chemicals, textiles and apparel, steel, iron & ferro alloys, aluminium downstream, food processing, power & renewable energy, IT infrastructure, and infrastructure & logistics, according to an official release.
Once implemented, these projects are expected to generate approximately 25,525 job opportunities across 12 districts of the state.
Among the notable projects, Waaree Clean Energy Solutions Pvt Limited plans to establish an electrolyser manufacturing plant in Khurda with an investment of Rs 435 crore, promising 300 jobs. Shalimar Paints intends to set up a unit in Balasore for paints varnish and its applied products, investing Rs 135 crore and creating 200 jobs.
Reliance Bio Energy Limited is introducing projects on compressed biogas and fermented organic manure in Dhenkanal and Cuttack, with a total investment of Rs 242.42 crore and offering 138 jobs.
In the textile and apparel sector, OFB Tech Private Limited proposes to set up a project in Khurda with an investment of Rs 857 crore, creating 15,000 job opportunities.
The states industrial landscape will also witness significant developments in sectors such as metal downstream, food processing, and power & renewable energy, with companies like BMW Industries Limited, Segma Profiles Pvt Ltd., Bajrangbali Minmet Private Limited, and Hindalco Industries Limited among others making substantial investments.
"In a collective effort, these 22 transformative projects, with a cumulative investment of Rs 4,066.71 crores, are poised to create 25,525 employment opportunities, paving the way for enhanced industrial growth and economic prosperity in Odisha," the release stated. |
