Mr. Rajendra Prasad Goyal, who currently serves as the Director of Finance at NHPC, India’s foremost hydropower company and a prestigious Schedule ‘A’ Enterprise under the Government of India, has assumed the additional responsibility as the Chairman and Managing Director, effective March 1st, 2024.
Having commenced his journey with NHPC on November 18th, 1988, Mr. Goyal has demonstrated an unwavering commitment to the organization, advancing through the ranks due to his exemplary sense of duty, ethical conduct, and unwavering dedication.
A member of the Institute of Cost Accountants of India, Mr. Goyal holds a Master’s Degree in Commerce from the University of Rajasthan, Jaipur. With over 35 years of rich experience within NHPC, his expertise spans across the financial domain, encompassing a profound understanding of financial intricacies, contractual nuances, and regulatory frameworks pertinent to hydropower project development and operations.
Moreover, Mr. Goyal serves as the Chairman of several entities including Lanco Teesta Hydro Power Limited (LTHPL), Jal Power Corporation Limited (JPCL), Bundelkhand Saur Urja Limited (BSUL), and NHPC Renewable Energy Limited (NREL). He also holds the position of Nominee Director on the Boards of NHDC Limited, Chenab Valley Power Projects Private Limited (CVPPPL), Ratle Hydroelectric Power Corporation Limited (RHPCL), and Loktak Downstream Hydroelectric Corporation Limited (LDHCL), all of which are subsidiaries of NHPC. Additionally, he is a member of the Executive Board of Standing Conference of Public Enterprises (SCOPE), New Delhi.
